What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Associate Director, BPM Workflow and Automation, the IT Development Lead is responsible for design, develop, and implementation of key parts of the Banking Technology platform. You will accomplish this by teamwork, having a can-do mindset with a hands-on approach and focus on details. You will need to be an expert level organizer to resolve things in a structural manner that provides clarity and direction. You are not afraid of challenging the team on technical details and be able to think functionally.

What will you do?

  • Leading and mentoring a team of software developers, ensuring their professional growth and development; Overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

  • Providing solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation; Allocating and ensuring resource arrangements during the application development life cycle.

  • Contribute directly by designing, implementing, and overseeing the development and implementation of multiple, complex, organization-wide applications; Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.

  • Ensuring adherence to software development standards, methodologies, and best practices by conducting code review and other means; Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, UX, and QA to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions; Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and technology adoption; Providing technical guidance and support to the development teams; Managing project budgets and resources effectively.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or a related field or role;7+ Years in Java development, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior developer role.

  • Strong knowledge of Java EE, Spring, Hibernate and other relevant frameworks.

  • Strong experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes.

  • Extensive experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code; Proven experience in leading and mentoring development teams; Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on complex projects.

Nice-to-have

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the capital markets middle office, OTC derivatives or back-office settlement and clearing services space

  • Experience with Python and related frameworks is a major plus.

  • Knowledge of and experience with QE and QA Automation

  • Knowledge AWS or Azure cloud services
