Here is what you will be doing:
The Corporate Performance and Reporting team advances internal reporting capabilities to support Ontario Health's mandate to deliver an integrated healthcare system with a focus on evidence, continuous improvement, and the ability to measure our impact. The analyst role would support this work by advancing our internal information framework, which consists of executive level reporting products designed to highlight progress against Ontario Health's strategic priorities. This includes an enterprise scorecard, program level placemats, and the agency's annual business plan.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
The Analyst for Corporate Performance and Reporting will contribute to this work through the following activities:
Lead the technical and strategic development of reporting products through the utilization of business intelligence tools. This encompasses collaborating with teams on the formulation of key performance indicators and monitoring progress in diverse reports and dashboards. Including designing products to seamlessly integrate with existing reports. Support strategic planning by working with teams from across the agency on the development of the Annual Business Plan and other corporate reporting products and tools.
Leading complex analysis and stakeholder engagement programs and preparing clear and compelling findings and recommendations through presentations for senior Ontario Health leadership that will influence decision making.
Forging strong relationships across Ontario Health's various functions that will enable effective collaboration and ensure our team consistently finds ways to improve processes and partner engagement.
Collaborate cross-functionally to highlight operational insights, develop key performance indicators, and utilize forecasting and modeling for enhanced internal reporting capabilities.
Utilize Microsoft Access to streamline reporting practices, migrate Excel-based reports, automate data workflows, and maintain and update data and reports efficiently.
Create scalable reports using tools like Power BI and translate findings into easy-to-interpret data visualizations.
Engage subject matter experts across the agency to develop strategic documents and processes, fostering alignment and consensus on complex issues.
Ensure quality and integrity of project work, supporting team members and cultivating partnerships.
Work with teams across the organization to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Take action-oriented approach to address ambiguous challenges, generating clear workplans and managing implementation and execution.
Cultivate close relationships with members and senior leaders, seeking opportunities to enhance team value.
Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree in computer science, business, health administration or related field is required.
A master's level degree in these fields would be an asset.
Knowledge of project management methodologies would be an asset.
A minimum of four (4) years' work experience, preferably in a strategic planning or reporting role.
Experience with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, is required.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools (including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is an asset.
Knowledge of data collection and analysis is an asset.
Work experience in health care is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access, including designing relational database schemas and creating complex forms and queries.
Expertise in troubleshooting database issues, maintaining data integrity, and training users on Access functionalities.
Strives for continual process improvements and proactively provides suggestions.
Self-starter with effective organizational and interpersonal skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and skilled at presenting complex concepts clearly and effectively for senior leaders.
Exercises good judgment, with an ability to multi-task and work independently.
Able to collaborate with partners effectively across teams.
Proven comfort with ambiguous mandates / challenges.
Experience in partner engagement and facilitation of group consensus and decision making.
Power BI experience includes building dashboards and reports.
Experience writing SQL queries would be an asset.
