YOUR IMPACT

As a Data System Engineer, you will be at the heart of running our data, Analytics and Reporting system. The team ensures that all of our systems, production and non-prod, are up to date, patched , secure and working correctly. We monitor data process, respond to incidents, problems and requests, troubleshoot and investigate.

At present we have a number of different data platforms which is a legacy of our ongoing journey of merger and acquisition. This means that things are always changing and evolving. However, we are embarking on a journey to build a new platform to be used a a single data system for all of our reporting in the future. obviously this is a very big undertaking and will take some time to complete. This provides the opportunity to both learn the existing platforms but also to be on the ground floor in shaping the service and support for the new world as well.

You will work closely with business users and cross-functional teams to understand the issues and provide solutions or escalations where appropriate.

With deep expertise in data solutions, end user support and ITIL methodology you will add value and ensure that the systems are running in an efficient way enabling the core business to function Ideally, you will be a self-starter with a proven track record in similar roles at other data-driven organizations.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Administration and support of the Operational and Analytical data systems
  • Configuration changes to the data systems platforms
  • support active user base with data tooling
  • Experience in Microsoft Fabric, Informatica, MS Sql Server
  • Able to apply Hot Fixes and perform upgrades as and when necessary
  • Understanding and troubleshooting the data toolset
  • Understand the data tooling landscape and which solution is the best fit for which tasks
  • Working with IT to understand and follow the Change and deployment process

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications in a data analytics field a definite plus.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a similar role delivering data solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong customer support skills. Good understanding of data and ETL tooling, databases , analytics, and data visualization tools such as PowerBI. Excellent SQL skills are essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex problems and to come up with solutions
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
