Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Future EDge, the Future EDge Web Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the Ecosystem's Communication and marketing Plans to advance the recognition of the programs offered by Carleton's Future EDge Talent Ecosystem. The activities of the Web Communications and Marketing Specialist focus on maximizing favourable program exposure-- locally, nationally, and internationally--to the general public, government entities and the business community with the purpose of raising the level of awareness of professional and executive education opportunities and to help improve client recruitment and reporting. The incumbent is responsible for the on going development, maintenance and evaluation of Future EDge's web and e-communications in coordination with the University's strategic communication plan. This includes working in tandem with external design teams to coordinate the design process for the site and/or specific pages/services, and the Faculty and staff for the ongoing development and maintenance of a dynamic, current and relevant online registration environment that significantly increases inbound lead flow and pipeline generation for Future EDge. The Web Communications and Marketing Specialist acts to ensure that all communications materials are consistent with University branding and produced with the highest standards with accuracy of information, quality of presentation and a common visual identity as they reflect Future EDge and the University's reputation to its internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Demonstrated excellence in organizational and administrative skills;
• Proven ability to conduct professional marketing, advertising and promotional plans/activities;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally represent the unit and deal effectively with clients/instructors, staff and public in both official languages; Bilingualism is an asset; • Ability to independently respond to queries and resolve problems;
• Strong skills in the manipulation of electronic data using MS Office; ability to adapt to a changing electronic environment;
• Proven experience and solid understanding of web development tools, concepts and lead management tools such as Liveball, Marketo, and Mailchimp;
• Ability to organize work effectively, set priorities and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision;
• Ability to simultaneously work on several assignments with pressures of multiple demands and changing priorities;
• Customer service and tele-sales experience an asset;
• Ability to represent Future EDge and Carleton University in a professional and knowledgeable manner; and sound knowledge of the universities structure, procedures, policies and regulations thorough knowledge of Future Edge's course requirements and schedule;
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a sense of urgency;
• Excellent presentation, writing, social media and marketing collateral development skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work with customers, sales and technical staff to lead and develop successful marketing messages, collateral and programs;
• Superior organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail mandatory;
• Flexible hours may be required - early morning, late evenings and Saturday's

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Three-year degree or diploma, in business administration, communications, marketing, or related discipline.
• Five years of directly related marketing/sales/administrative experience in online and/or traditional marketing communications.
• Preference will be given to individuals who have experience in a college or university setting.

Assets:
• Experience in the recruitment of non-degree program participants in a training or educational environment
• Bilingualism
