Tableau/data Analyst Summer Student (4-month contract)

Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy summer student to support our migration from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud. The ideal candidate for this position will have Tableau experience and is in the process of completing a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

The IT Summer Student will have the opportunity to work with experienced data professionals to plan, execute, and validate the transition to Tableau Cloud. You will gain exposure to modern platforms, data governance best practices, and the intricacies of enterprise analytics infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support with and assist the Tableau Server migration, including mapping out a step-by-step plan for migrating data sources, workbooks, and dashboards to Tableau Cloud.
• Optimize Tableau Cloud settings for performance and scalability.
• Work with the IT team to troubleshoot deployment challenges and ensure minimal downtime.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies during content transfer.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards in collaboration with the security team.
• Gather and incorporate feedback on usability and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
• Prepare instructional materials for end-users on accessing and interacting with content in Tableau Cloud.
• Maintain detailed documentation of migration steps, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Monitor resource usage and performance on Tableau Cloud.
• Suggest improvements to streamline workflows and user experience.
• Develop Business Intelligence experience and function as a Center of Expertise for BI technologies like Tableau, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
• Explore and develop automated solutions for data analysis.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization principles.
• Ability to use various software applications.

Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years of hands-on experience with the Tableau environment -Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Prep.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
