As a Software Build Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the build, release, and deployment processes of software products developed within a SAFE Scrum environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, DevOps engineers, and product owners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software releases.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and optimize the build process for software development projects following the SAFE methodology
Configure and maintain build automation tools, such GitLab CI/CD, to ensure efficient and reliable builds
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and program manager, to integrate build processes into the overall workflow
Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize deployment pipelines and infrastructure configurations
Define and implement build strategies, including continuous integration, daily/nightly builds, and release builds, aligned with releases and program increments
Monitor and troubleshoot build failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve issues promptly
Ensure the integrity and security of the build environment, including managing build artifacts, certificates, and access controls
Optimize build performance and scalability to support the Agile development process, considering factors such as build speed, resource utilization, and parallel execution
Implement and maintain build metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into build health, quality, and performance
Stay up to date with the latest build tools, technologies, and best practices and propose improvements to the build process
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in software build and release management roles, preferably within an Agile or SAFE Scrum environment
Strong proficiency in build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), version control systems (e.g., Git), and deployment automation technologies
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) and build configuration languages (e.g., Groovy, YAML)
Understanding of software packaging, dependency management, and artifact repositories
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex build issues
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Agile development environment
DECISION MAKING & SUPERVISION:
This role has no direct reports, but will work and interact with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Working conditions are generally comfortable typical of an office environment.
