Your Role on our Team: Reporting into the Vice President IT, the Senior Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our company. You'll be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and safeguarding our IT infrastructure. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead strategic initiatives, manage technical resources, and align technology solutions with business objectives.

The Senior Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations will leverage strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and support a diverse team in executing high quality projects as well as ongoing maintenance and support of all systems in scope.

In this role, you will:

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate and execute the technology strategy, and roadmap for the organization.
  • Identify emerging trends, evaluate new technologies, and recommend integration opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption.

Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, architects, client support specialists.
  • Foster collaboration, skill development, and career growth within the technology team.
  • Foster collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Drive an environment of exceptional customer service and timely support for all users in the organization.

Operational:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure and network.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of network operations, systems administration, and cloud services.
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including service desk and technical support services.
  • Ensure high availability for all systems in scope and meeting all operational KPIs.
  • Measure, monitor and maintain the team's ability to meet or exceed response and resolution Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.

Risk Management:

  • Liaise with the Security Team to implement best practices in security to protect against cyber threats.
  • Manage risk and maintain business continuity plans.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly test comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Vendor Management:

  • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and optimize technology investments.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their value and effectiveness for the organization.
  • Continuously analyze and optimize technology costs while maintaining or improving service quality and reliability.

We would like you to have:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in technology leadership roles

Experience & Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, networking, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of new and emerging technologies and trends
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud technologies, enterprise applications, and best practices specific to Microsoft Azure.
  • Advanced knowledge of public cloud architectures, using IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service)
  • Knowledge of security concepts to provide practical expertise solution remediation.
  • Applied knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop architectural solutions and technology roadmaps for a multi-site organization
  • Ability to resolve significant integration and technical issues
  • Ability to lead and motivate technology teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to technical specialists.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.

Work Conditions

  • 37.5-hour on-site work week
  • A reliable vehicle is required and a valid driver's license for offsite training
  • Availability to travel occasionally to remote sites in Canada and US
