18 month coop starting in May

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join Ericsson as a Mechanical Design Intern. Within this role, you will have the chance to develop and maintain an array of products and services, spanning across components, units, nodes, networks, systems, and solutions. Your development journey in this role will range from requirement analysis, system design, architecture design, hardware design, software design, integration, simulation, tools design, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) support, to creating product documentation. The role resonates profoundly with the Ericsson Product Development Principles.

What you will do:

  • Participate in the mechanical design of cutting edge 5G radio products
  • Produce formal design documentation, specifications, design database updates
  • Support Mechanical Verification Testing
  • Help to maintain and enhance the hardware development lab environment
  • Contribute to the success of the Mechanical team goals

The skills you bring:

  • Progression towards B.Sc. or M. Sc. program in Mechanical Engineering or related fields. Preferably 3rd and 4th year students with at least 1 semester remaining.
  • Proactive, motivated, organized and efficient working habits
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment or self directed with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication (English)
  • Previous Mechanical Design work experience would be beneficial.
  • Exposure or experience to Mechanical Design Concepts in Sheet Metal, Die Casting, or Plastic Injection Molding would be beneficial
  • Understanding of Heat Transfer Mechanisms, Structural Analysis would be beneficial
  • Experience with 3D Design Tools (Solidworks, Autocad, CREO) or similar tools would be beneficial
