Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager, Digital Workplace Transformation is responsible for shaping and executing Carleton University’s digital workplace strategy. Responsible for leading a crucial role in shaping Carleton University digital workplace strategy by levraging Microsoft 365 tools, process automation (RPA), and Power BI capabilities. This role focuses on delivering applications and services that enhance the Digital Employee Experience (DEX). The manager oversees digital workplace functions, including operations, governance, enablement ensuring alignment with business outcomes, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of digital dexterity.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of leadership practices in people management, strategic planning and risk management, policy development, financial management and stakeholder relationship management
• Issues and trends at Carleton and in the higher education sector related to the use of technology and information management
• Contemporary best practices in information management and technology programs and service delivery models
• Knowledge in IT applications, infrastructure and security and their integration
• Knowledge of project management
• Knowledge is deployed to develop and lead a major functional area within the university
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, process automation (RPA), and Power BI, with the ability to leverage them to enhance DEX.
• Awareness of ways to measure DEX and familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL, including knowledge, incident, change, service request, and major-incident management.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management, peers, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Passion for innovation, collaboration, and customer satisfaction

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in IT service delivery, with at least 3 years leading digital workplace teams or projects.
• 5+ years of direct managerial experience in mentoring and developing IT staff.
• 5+ years managing IT systems, processes, and vendors.
• Experience in strategic technology planning and policy development.
• Experience managing a portfolio of digital workplace applications.
