RVA is looking for an experienced Engineering Technologist, Instrumentation and Controls.

The position can be based out of any of our offices located in Toronto/Halton/St. Catherine's/Waterloo/Sudbury/London/Ottawa

Duties:

  • Drafting and Design of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), PLC panel layouts, I/O loop diagrams, instrument installation details, SCADA systems and network architecture layouts for major water and wastewater projects;
  • Generate project specifications including Process Control Narratives from Master documents;
  • Perform Contract Administration including shop drawing review, witnessing of equipment and systems factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and troubleshooting for major water and wastewater projects;
  • Perform Site Inspections including data gathering and deficiency reviews at water and wastewater projects; and
  • Provide drafting support for RVA's electrical department including site plans, single line diagrams, and control circuit wiring diagrams for various types of starters and process equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of a 3-year college-level electrical/controls engineering technologist program or a 2-year electrical/controls technician program;
  • Experience in PLC panel design, I/O loop diagrams, and control circuit wiring diagrams is required;
  • Certified Technician (C.Tech.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is an asset;
  • Experience and/or knowledge of instrumentation and SCADA systems is an asset;
  • Experience in process controls for water/wastewater processes is an asset;
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Experience with REVIT is an asset;
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written; and
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, clients and contractors;
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a vehicle for site visits.
