About this opportunity:

We are on the lookout for a dedicated DU System Developer to join our team at Ericsson. The organization within Business Unit Networks seeks to work closely with our customers, passionate about the delivery of virtualized RAN solutions. This engaging role involves the development and maintenance of our products and services including components, units, nodes, networks, systems, and solutions. As part of your role, you will be tasked with a variety of development undertakings such as requirement analysis, system design, architecture design, hardware design, software design, integration, verification, tools design, and product documentation support, to name a few.

What you will do:

  • Actively engage in the architecture definition and proactively drive the implementation of Cloud Native based vDU:
  • Drive and participate in system studies for products and features and product evolution with special consideration to sync and TA area.
  • Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools and processes.
  • Participate in proof-of-Concept development.
  • Interfacing with customers to understand their pain points and future needs.
  • Participate in the development of roadmaps and strategies for hardware and software platforms.
  • Development of Intellectual Property
  • Cultivate a systematization and implementation that enable rapid feature parity in a Stand-Alone and Hybrid network environment.
  • Work on 3GPP NR and ORAN standards protocols and advanced 5G features.

The skills you bring:

  • 7-10 years' work in Wireless System architecture/ standardization or Cloud Native product architecture/ development
  • 5-7 year of work experience in functions related to TA and Sync in Digital Units or Radio systems.
  • BSc or MSc level in Electrical/ Computer Systems engineering or related specialization.
  • Good understanding of wireless channel models and L1/L2/L3 Algorithms will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native core design principles is desirable.
  • Good presentation, time management and leadership skills & ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
  • Result oriented with focus on customer satisfaction and project delivery.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken providing effective communication, and building positive relationships internally as well as externally.
  • Background in communications theory and digital signal processing
  • Experience in Radio access technologies (NR, LTE, WCDMA, GSM), Baseband, and/or HW/SW design or research.
  • Solid understanding of NR 3GPP specifications, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management, and Mobility.
  • Experience in SW development. Languages include Java, Matlab, C and C++
  • Analytical and mathematical approach, high capacity, and result-oriented ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and/or being perceived as a technical leader.
  • Self-motivated. Ability to work under pressure and learn independently.
