About this opportunity:

The Product Engineering Unit Engineering Environment & Services provides Cloud RAN production system services which enable resilient Cloud Native production pipeline services for all Cloud Native RAN Engineering units, including digital testing, self-service, and as-a-service provisioning, enabling DevOps, and supporting disaggregation and openness.

What you will do:

As Cloud RAN moves towards a microservice architecture and SRE way of working, a DevOps Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining robust configuration management processes in the cloud environments, ensuring the consistency, reliability, and security of our software environments. This role focuses on ensuring consistency across the end-to-end systems and ensures tools and processes used are based on cloud-native principles. Ownership of the open-source component strategy also lies within this domain. This role ensures highly available and repeatable systems and has scalable systems that are secure and compliant. This role brings together various stakeholders - customers and suppliers - and works as a liaison between customers and the team. This role keeps automation at the center of all activities and streamlines the CI/CD framework.

  • Lead design and implementation of configuration management processes in cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration with our DevOps practices.
  • Design, develop and maintain CD/CD pipelines and all its elements.
  • Champion Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Own container orchestration solutions (CaaS).
  • Own Version Control and Change Management systems and way of working.
  • Collaboration and Communication with various stakeholders.
  • Drive an open-source strategy for cloud-native toolsets.
  • Keep Security and Compliance in the equation for every element of the system.
  • Own Scalability and Performance Optimization.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution.
  • Drive a documentation and training strategy.

The skills you bring:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant Engineering field
  • Proven experience as a Configuration Management Architect with a focus on cloud environments.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of security principles in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience working with the open-source community.
  • Excellent scripting and programming skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies and DevOps are a plus.
