About this opportunity:

Approximately 40% of the world's mobile traffic is carried through an Ericsson Network. The fifth generation (5G) of Radio Access Networks (RAN) is happening now and Ericsson is the recognized technology leader in bringing it to the market. With the first commercial 5G launches, there has never been a better time for you to make your mark.

We are now looking for a 5G System Developer to join the existing 5G NR RAN function development. Your role will include all development activities such as: requirement analysis, system design, algorithm design, simulations, tools design, Product Lifecycle Management support and product documentation. Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We coordinate in cross functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.

What you will do:

  • Develop algorithms and solutions in L1/MIMO as well as radio resource management area for 5G NR Base stations.
  • Develop simulations for the analysis of 5G feature algorithms and implement extensions to simulation tools and environments.
  • Perform Continuous analysis and Requirements Handling.
  • Develop deep understanding of Baseband product architecture and implementation.
  • Work with product design teams to implement the proposed solution, following the preferred software architecture and respecting the memory and cycle constraints in the product, and suggest implementation improvements when applicable.
  • Support System Verification and test result analysis, Customer trouble reports analysis.
  • Detail all system analysis and performance expectations and results.
  • Work closely with Product management teams to explain the solution as well help prioritize the requirements.

The skills you bring:

  • A Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in communications theory and digital signal processing
  • Solid understanding of LTE & NR 3GPP specifications, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management and Mobility
  • Experience in SW development for Link and Network Simulations. Languages include Java, C and C++, and Python
  • Experience in the software development and analysis of simulations. Knowledge of simulation environments and tools like MATLAB would be an asset.
  • Analytical mindset, high capacity, result oriented and ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage many different projects at once.
  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, providing effective communication building positive relationships internally as well as externally.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and a team player.
  • Education: Must have a M. Sc. or Ph.D. degree in a relevant area, preferably with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the required skills areas as mentioned above.
