HERE'S HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Work closely with business users, BI/Analytics developers, data engineers, and architects to gather requirements and translate them into data models.

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that integrate data from various sources into BI/Analytics Data marts and OLAP Cubes to support analytics, reporting, and performance metrics.

  • Optimize data models to ensure high performance of queries, reduce data redundancy, and improve overall system efficiency.

  • Collaborate with ETL developers to ensure the accurate and timely loading of data into data marts according to the data model specifications.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and data lineage.

  • Ensure adherence to data governance and security policies, including the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data within the BI/Analytics environment.

  • Support the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of data models to ensure they meet the functional and performance criteria.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, tools, and methodologies in data modeling, particularly for BI/Analytics environments.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, specifically for BI/Analytics, data warehouses, and/or data marts.

  • Proven experience with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, or equivalent.

  • Experience working with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.

  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional database design (star schema, snowflake schema).

  • Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).

  • Previous experience with legacy BI tool migration to Power BI is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in designing data models for data marts and BI/Analytics solutions.

  • Understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google Big Query, Azure Synapse).

  • Familiarity with metadata management and data governance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Naturally curious with an ability to formulate questions at varying depths to uncover needs, hunt for misalignment, and grow an understanding of our business.

  • Self-starter and can work independently to achieve desired business outcomes.

  • Ability to work in a team with varied skill sets and experience.

  • Positive mindset and willingness to learn on the job.
