The Finance Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, troubleshooting data issues, developing reports, communicating results, driving key projects, and drive process optimization. This role will collaborate with partners across the organization and the US parent to support key initiatives or to function as a liaison to drive system updates or process changes.HERE'S HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
Function as a Power BI and SQL query expert, translating business requirements into effective reports, data visualizations, queries/stored procedures, key performance indicators (KPIs), data analysis/interpretation to support financial reporting and decision-making processes.
Support the development and maintenance of sophisticated advanced financial models for budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and project assessments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to refine assumptions and guide strategic financial planning.
Perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data.
Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop and maintain visually compelling and interactive BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Develop and maintain documentation for BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used in reports and dashboards.
Function as a subject matter expert for our finance system, understanding transactional level processing to provide back-up support to our systems team and support on various data related requests.
Identify opportunities for automation, process enhancement and spearhead the development of scripts or workflows to streamline routine tasks, significantly improving overall operational efficiency.
Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis, delivering timely and insightful reports that support decision-making at various organizational levels.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Bachelor's degree in data science or business administration with a specialization in Finance
4+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
Significant experience with MS Power BI and strong SQL skills and experience with querying databases.
Data modelling and data mining
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including VBA programming and macro creation.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Capable of working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and changing requirements.
Strong time management and ability to prioritize work during demanding periods.
Naturally curious with an ability to formulate questions at varying depths to uncover needs, hunt for misalignment, and grow an understanding of our business.
Initiative-taker and can work independently to achieve desired business outcomes.
Ability to work in a team with varied skill sets and experience.
Positive mindset and willingness to learn on the job.
