About Us
The Health Services I&IT Cluster provides information management and information technology solutions that support the business requirements of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long-Term Care and its agents. The cluster enables the Ontario government's I&IT Strategy and plays a leadership role in major business transformation initiatives and infrastructure projects.

The Emergency Health I&IT Solutions and Technology Management Branch is responsible for supporting Emergency Health Ambulance Dispatch within the province. We are transforming our solutions and data analysis needs by building and supporting real-time dashboards, reporting solutions, and mobile applications. Additionally, the branch supports a variety of ambulance dispatch tools, including a 911 telephone system and a Computer-Aided Dispatch system. A sound Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing practice is required to support these products.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Bring your QA and testing expertise to the branch. In this role, you will:

• be completing IT and Technology quality assurance and testing activities
• establish and implement common automated testing practices for all types of software and environment tests, including functional tests, unit and component tests, performance and load tests, usability and user acceptance tests and exploratory tests
• coordinate and lead the delivery of quality assurance and continuous improvement (QA, CI) services for the cluster and its partners

How do I qualify?

Quality Assurance and Testing Knowledge and Skills

• you have knowledge and understanding of quality assurance methodologies, object-oriented analysis/design techniques, proven facility in structured methodologies for the design, development/implementation of applications, and extensive experience in the use of test and development tools for testing mobile applications, real-time data dashboard and dispatching tools
• you have excellent working knowledge of industry best practice testing automation tools
• you have knowledge of current development and testing tools/languages within the different frameworks and platforms, and the development/testing of client/server and web applications using industry standard technologies, including SQL, web services (SOAP/REST) and scripting skills

Knowledge

• you have proven experience in the development/testing/implementation of applications, including considerable knowledge of different platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, languages and telecommunications protocols
• you have knowledge of, and experience with, testing best practices in the context of agile development methodologies
• you have testing experience within a cloud/on-prem environment, including pre-deployment, system integration, performance and UAT
• Knowledge of testing Telephone, Radio systems and as well, tools used in dispatching

Leadership and Analytical Skills

• you can lead test planning activities and projects
• you have proven experience in monitoring/enforcing application development and quality control standards

Communication Skills

• you have demonstrated customer service and consensus-building skills to determine client expectations for the development/implementation of information systems and technology that meet corporate efficiency, effectiveness, access and security goals
• you can write structured test strategies, test plans, test scenarios and test cases to ensure requirements' traceability
