Data Analyst

Position Summary

As a Data Analyst working within the Data Governance team, your main role will focus on documenting data assets, identifying data owners and stewards, and ensuring that data governance processes are structured and consistent across the organization. You will play a key role in facilitating data governance by ensuring that data is clearly defined, accessible, and properly managed according to organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Document Data Assets, including data definitions and data sources. Creating and maintaining the data inventory.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify data owners and data stewards to ensure the accuracy, security and usage of specific datasets within the enterprise.
  • Ensure data governance processes maintain the integrity of data with the governance framework.
  • Monitor data trends, analyze data quality and recommend actions to improve the integrity and consistency of the data across the organization.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and the Data Governance team members to ensure alignment between data governance needs and business requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather document requirements of data management and governance.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of data governance policies, procedures and tools that ensure data security, compliance and accessibility.
  • Maintain and report the status of data ownership and stewardship of various datasets.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years of related experience in data analysis, data governance, or a similar role.
  • University degree in statics, mathematics, computer science, data science, Business administration or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in documenting Data assets, defining data flows, and creating data dictionaries or glossaries.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week. Hybrid position - a mix of working from home.
  • Travel: Occasional domestic.
