Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Manager of Software Development to lead and mentor a team of talented solution architects and software engineers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget, while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for building high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of solution architects and software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Define and execute a software development strategy, leveraging AI and scaling across the broader team.
  • Provide technical vision and guidance to solution architects and software engineers, driving the adoption of new technologies and tools to modernize platforms.
  • Oversee the execution of the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, proactively addressing potential challenges.
  • Manage all resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of agile software development methodology; SAFe experience preferred.
  • Experience with various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies - Java, .NET, Angular, HTML, CSS, Spring, etc.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud technologies; experience with cloud security is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools; experience fully automating and scaling CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
