What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager, Data Engineering and Analytics, you will be part of our RBC Advice Centre Workforce Management (WFM) team. You will be responsible for accurate data sourcing, storage and analysis in support of short, medium and long range forecasting and capacity management, with a clear focus on leveraging best in class data techniques.

Please note that this role requires 3 days a week minimum in the office, subject to change by the business.

What will you do?

  • Apply data management expertise with data sourcing, storage and analysis to support short, medium and long range workload forecasting, capacity management and other WFM processes
  • Join data across multiple data environments, using complex optimized queries and maintain best-in-class data assets to support WFM strategy, including insights that support understanding on variances to plan/forecast
  • Provide subject matter expertise for WFM data needs to enable the implementation of initiatives that improve AC/DI productivity and identification around emerging call volume, AHT, shrinkage and advisor movement trends
  • Generate data to support fact-based opportunities for productivity improvements with estimated impact to Client experience, Employee experience and NIE
  • Collaborate with key partners to align data sources, metric definitions and data integrity, promoting accuracy and consistency of data-driven insights that influence advice centre demand and resource planning
  • End-to-end responsibility for WFM data management and analyses including framing and negotiating data objectives, sourcing relevant data and performing in-depth analysis
  • Develop recommendations for improving data quality throughout the data transformation lifecycle
  • Use impact and influence to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics)
  • 3+ years of experience in working with Unix platform, relational databases and joining data from multiple data sources
  • 3+ years programming experience, using SAS/SQL, Teradata, Hadoop (Hive, HDFS) and Python
  • Superior capabilities and proven experience in the application of data mining and statistical analysis
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to conceptualize strategy
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Previous dashboard report development (ie Tableau)
  • Leadership experience in a cross functional environment
