You as a Senior Designer will:

• Produce design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit in accordance with department standards. Collaborate with the team's stamping engineers to prepare all drawings, prepared by both yourself and other team members, to be sealed and issued.
• Review and provide feedback on the drawings of junior team members.
• Provide leadership and guidance in developing and maintaining department drawing standards.
• Visit sites to inspect designs, participate in coordination meetings, perform site walks, etc.
• Establish effective communication with site teams in all areas to obtain information relevant to design tasks, clarify scope, ensure conformance with drawings and EllisDon best practices, etc.
• Promote a culture of continual improvement, self-awareness, inclusion, and accountability.
• Take an active role in mentoring/coaching/people development.
• Provide input on proposals, schematic, and design development budgeting/proposals.
• Actively identify potential areas for cost savings or value-engineering on projects.
• Actively identify pitfalls on projects and address/resolve issues early.
• Self-manage workload, identify priorities, and execute to deadlines.
• Delegate work appropriately to ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology/Architectural Technology.
• You have 10+ years of experience in construction and producing temporary structures design drawings.
• You have expertise with Autodesk drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
• You have expertise with formwork and falsework.
• Familiarity with scaffold considered an asset.
