We as Global Digital Services enable BASF's digitalization and adoption of artificial intelligence. In agile teams, we develop innovative solutions for BASF and its customers, create new exciting customer experiences and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes. Our unit "Data Foundation" Product "Integration" uses highly innovative technologies to integrate data and applications. The Data Integration Layer (DIL) is a platform and framework for integration scenarios, data exchange for internal and external purposes. DIL provides tools and processes to get whatever kind of data, in which ever format available or needed. It implements capabilities defined in Enterprise Integration Concept for: Data Integration, Thing Integration, Process Integration, and User Integration.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SAP Data Engineer (Datasphere) who will be responsible working with Data Integration Technologies, such as SAP Datasphere and SLT.

As a SAP Data Engineer (Datasphere), you create chemistry by...

• Providing consulting services to BASF stakeholders on SAP Datasphere and SLT technologies.
• Defining, executing, scheduling, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Developing innovative SAP infrastructure and cloud concepts, implementing modules with security and authorization frameworks, and ensuring compliance with BASF's information and data protection guidelines.
• Adapting changes in processes and ensuring systematic quality assurance for accurate data processing.
• Building reusable code and libraries, optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability, and utilizing tools like Azure DevOps and Confluence.

If you have...

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years related working experience in Data Integration Technologies -Datasphere "Replication Flow" component, Data configurations, Connections configuration (users, roles, and scoped roles).
• Strong understanding of SAP structures like tables and CDS views (replicating CDS views from S4 source to target).
• Knowledge of S/4 HANA, ADLS and Big Data platforms; third party databases i.e. MSSQL.
• Proficient in Azure DevOps or similar tools and Confluence, with experience in customizing of SAP Integration Technologies.
• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of complex data structures, paired with business and technical consulting abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and a growth mindset.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Process Integration tools (SAP CI), Event Driven Tools (Kafka or Solace) as well as API Management Experience would be very beneficial.
