You as a Network Engineer will be:

  • Provide 3rd level support for all network hardware, software, and problems reported, documenting problems and solutions as required. Assist in 2nd level support when required
  • Manages, supports, and ensures operating viability of LAN and WAN both wired and wireless for all hours of operation, and reports any abnormalities. Ensure the 24/7 availability and performance of the servers and network that support our systems, including some "on-call" responsibilities
  • Work within an understanding of a network design framework to design, plan, test, implement and integrate various LAN/WAN systems, including: Data Center, Core network firewalls and switches, Wireless, MPLS traffic management and Internet routing services, as well as load balancing platforms
  • Contributes to the design, configuration and maintenance of VOIP networks, network security, and the applications running on these platforms
  • Contributes to the backup/recovery and disaster prevention/recovery of all network components
  • Collaborate in a cross functional role, contributing to the daily operations of infrastructure wide, local and wide area networks, Internet services that affect services
  • Coordinate resources and provide hands on technical expertise as a point of escalation to the
  • Other Operations Teams when needed
  • Report on operational audits and performance monitoring
  • Maintain updated records of network inventory, diagrams, specifications and configuration item data in document repositories and the computer management database
  • Effectively use ITIL processes for all required changes and requisitions.
  • Assist on projects or special initiatives as assigned

Is this the right role for you?

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field
  • Current CCNP or CCIE required
  • 5+ years' experience working with Cisco products in a large enterprise in a multi-site environment leveraging equipment including: Switches, Router, ASA Firewall, FirePower, CUCM (VOIP), Wireless Controller, Load Balancer etc.
  • Expert knowledge in diagnosing complex network performance issues and working with Network Monitoring systems, Wireshark, Splunk, NETFLOW etc. tools
  • Expert in documentation and network topology visualization at all OSI levels
  • Experience in Aruba Clearpass is asset
  • Passion for network support and IT Service Delivery
  • Superior written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Valid driver's license, and vehicle
  • Please note: this role is a 1-year contract role
