The City of Mississauga has an opportunity for a Marketing Consultant to join our City Marketing team. As part of the Strategic Communications and Initiatives Divisional team, you will work collaboratively to plan and execute many of the City's marketing and communications projects. This position reports to the Supervisor, City Marketing.
About You:
As a marketing specialist, you are passionate about developing and executing integrated and evidence-based marketing strategies that successfully meet the objectives of a wide variety of municipal government initiatives that benefit residents and the community. You will embrace and thrive in a fast paced, high energy and high-performance culture. Composed, creative, and an excellent communicator, you are also able to interpret ambiguity and provide strategic marketing recommendations.
Provide fulsome marketing expertise (Brand, Traditional, Digital, Social) to internal City stakeholders to achieve City business goals and objectives, including but not limited to building audience trust, generating awareness, fostering education, and driving engagement and or conversions.
Participate in cross-departmental, multi-disciplinary work teams to plan, execute, track, optimize, report-out, and determine insights on public facing and internal marketing projects, programs, and campaigns to ensure identified goals, objectives, and KPIs are achieved.
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with assigned portfolio(s) stakeholders.
Be accountable for all marketing aspects of assigned portfolio(s) including development, execution, monitoring, reporting and success of annual marketing workplans.
Use primary and secondary research, historical data, current trends and practices to gather insights and inform campaign recommendations.
Work with an in-house creative team to help conceptualize, write and produce marketing content.
Plan, deploy, monitor, optimize and report on advertising campaigns across multiple media channels and platforms to achieve targeted campaign KPIs.
When assigned, participate in cross-departmental working teams for organization wide projects and initiatives outside of your assigned portfolio(s).
Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, and or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in marketing and communications. Government experience and a Chartered Marketer certification is considered an asset.
Experience developing and executing complex, multi-phased and multi-channel campaigns with proven success meeting campaign KPIs, goals and objectives.
Strong understanding of all aspects of marketing and communications including but not limited to: traditional, digital and social marketing, metrics tracking, optimization, reporting and analytics. including Programmatic ad buying platforms, broadcast, print, SEM, Social Media Management tools, social engagement and web analytics.
Proven critical thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
Excellent client management and relationship building skills, strong written and verbal communications, and persuasive presentation skills
Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Ability to adapt to change and embrace new techniques and technology
Fluent with current trends in marketing and communications.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 76,313.00 - $ 101,753.00
Hours of Work: 35 hours
