What is the opportunity?

This individual manages resources and coordinates technical activities of team assigned to various squads in the Agile Operating Model within Insurance. This includes identifying efficiency opportunities through pro-active system & process improvements as well as managing day to day activities. This position will also liaise with multiple vendors and third party providers to oversee technical deliverables and provide day to day management activities to ensure RBC standardized processes are followed, operational trends are monitored and technology obsolescence is addressed.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate channels for open communication within the scrum or Kanban team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment

  • Coaches the product scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.

  • Fostering self-organization and collaborative scrum team; sheltering the team from outside distractions to keep focus mainly on the agreed sprint goals.

  • Promotes innovative or improved methods, implements best practices and collaborates with colleagues across the organization to get increase efficiency.

  • Manages performance, reward and recognition, coaches and mentors team members,

  • Manages and delivers shared IT services required by other scrums teams in the delivery of their objectives.

  • Monitoring and improving the scrum process and project progress; helping solve impediments in the development process.

  • Accountable alongside the team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet stakeholders' needs and expectations

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience (7-10 years)

  • Project plan development & management in waterfall and/or agile

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Knowledge of relevant technology

  • Talent Management process (recruitment/selection, performance management/, performance development/ coaching, reward/recognition)

Nice-to-have

  • PMP Designation (an asset)

  • Certified Scrum Master / Agile Practitioner
