Grow your career with Remco! A leader in the Warehousing & Transportation industry as a Director of IT responsible for management and execution of IT infrastructure and operating systems (Transport and Warehouse Management systems).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the company’s technology road map for all technical infrastructure and establishes system software performance and quality standards
  • Sets project priorities and provides direction to the IT team related to system software evaluation, installation and maintenance
  • Ensures that cyber security systems, controls and procedures are operating effectively to manage vulnerabilities, and provide continuous protection from external and internal parties
  • Oversee applications management and development in Transportation division.
  • Lead the design of IT solutions for clients and internal to operations or other functions
  • Lead the implementation of new clients from an IT perspective, integration and system set-up
  • Manage IT department staff including hiring and performance management.
  • Responsible to Negotiate contract, hardware/software pricing with all vendors and suppliers
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of electronic hardware, such as photo copier contracts, camera systems, building alarm systems and time and attendance clocks.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Direct and manage implementation project development from beginning to end.
  • Develop and define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Responsible for all vendor management and contracts
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or related degrees
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification an asset or strong familiarity with project management software
  • 5+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience coordinating and/supporting IT business processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage project team resources, budget, change requests and timeline
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, 3PL, and transportation operations / industries is a benefit
  • Proficient in all Microsoft products, Outlook, Excel
  • Familiar with programming languages
  • Database and operating systems experience
  • Competent and proficient understanding of platforms
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
