About the Role
We are looking for ambitious movie-obsessed students to join our IMAX Internship Program this Summer! This 10-week program will focus on hands-on learning, skill development, and real-world work experience in a collaborative and innovative environment. This program will take place June-August in our Mississauga office!
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our IT team, focusing on Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Operations. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in the world of data management and AI. As part of the team, you will play an important role in parsing and analyzing metadata from documents to support broader data and AI projects. The ideal candidate has a passion for data, an interest in cutting-edge technologies, and a desire to contribute to meaningful projects.
What You'll Do:
Metadata Parsing and Analysis:
Extract, process, and analyze metadata from various document types.
Develop and utilize scripts or tools to automate metadata extraction processes.
Ensure metadata quality, consistency, and alignment with project requirements.
Support Data and AI Initiatives:
Collaborate with the BI and business teams to integrate metadata into broader data pipelines.
Contribute to data preparation efforts for machine learning models and AI initiatives.
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or issues that may impact AI outcomes.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create clear and comprehensive documentation for processes and workflows.
Assist in generating reports and visualizations to showcase insights derived from metadata analysis.
Collaboration and Learning:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and data requirements.
Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving discussions.
Stay updated on emerging trends and tools in metadata management and AI.
What You'll Need:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
Previous coursework or project experience in data analysis, metadata, or programming is a plus.
Basic understanding of metadata and its role in data management and AI projects.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with an emphasis on data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
Familiarity with databases and query languages like SQL.
Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data-related services.
Understanding of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
Interest in machine learning concepts and how metadata supports AI development.
