We are currently seeking a Data Center Technical Advisor, who will play a key role in helping manage our various data centers in the Greater Toronto area and technologies in our various offices across Canada. The incumbent will work closely with different IT teams in the analysis, planning, coordination and execution of changes in our data centers, telecom and server rooms, which are at the heart of the company's IT operations, allowing us to serve our customers across Canada.
What you'll do here:
Assist Operational Support teams and IT Project teams in assessing needs and identifying requirements related to changes in our multiple server rooms across Canada and data centers. Contribute to the analysis, planning and execution of these changes.
Participate in the day-to-day management of our data centers and server rooms by analyzing requests from a technical perspective to quantify work to be done and expertise needed.
Participate in multiple projects in the planning and installation, removal and modification of the various IT physical components including structured cabling infrastructure in various DC and server room types listed above, including coordination.
Modify floor plans, cabling specifications, elevation plans for cabinets and other items, electrical capacity analysis, in relation to changes in our various server rooms, including planning, coordination of the changes and supervising external partners that may be involved.
Take charge and participate actively in change request (RFC), problem-solving and incidents resolution affecting our data centers or server rooms.
Apply procedures and standards related to all data center and server room activities, considering the company's rules, security and global standards.
Participate in documenting processes, including floor plan elevation diagram, stock inventory management and all necessary operational documentation needed in our day-to-day or project activities.
Monitoring and participating in the maintenance of electromechanical components, documenting the findings and reporting the situation to team members.
Provide an internal and external quality customer service in accordance with the values of the company.
Be available for on-call assistance (Rotation between 2 persons)
Frequent travels on a weekly basis to our various data centers/smaller server rooms in the Greater Toronto area and occasionally across Canada.
What you bring to the table:
IT diploma or certification in data center management or other IT infrastructure related certification, or any combination of education and equivalent in infrastructure management (3+ years)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities and can work quickly and maintain a methodical and calm approach while working under stressful situations.
Solid planning, organizational and coordination skills
Ability to manage your time and your priorities efficiently and respect delays
Demonstrated ability to respond promptly, thoughtfully and effectively to changing priorities and situations.
Team spirit, creativity, autonomy, rigour and focus on quality
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent group communication skills such as leading discussions, briefing sessions, forums, and telephone conferences

Technical knowledge in various types of equipment (Network, Servers, UPS, etc...), DC structure cabling, various OS (Windows, Linux, AIX)
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
