Summary

We seek an experienced and highly organized Asset and Configuration Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our device Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This individual will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of assets and configurations, adhering to ITIL Asset Management and ITIL Configuration Management best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the completeness, correctness, and compliance of all assets and configurations within the CMDB by conducting regular audits and ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Oversee and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the CMDB, including the identification, classification, and categorization of all assets and configurations within the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT Operations, Service Delivery, and Business Units, to gather and validate asset and configuration data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for the effective management of assets and configurations, including change management, incident management, and problem management.
  • Conduct regular reviews of asset and configuration data to identify and address any discrepancies or gaps, ensuring that the CMDB remains up-to-date and reliable.
  • Analyze asset and configuration data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement, and recommend enhancements to optimize asset and configuration management practices.
  • Monitor and manage the software licensing and maintenance contracts for all assets and configurations, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and maximizing cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders on asset and configuration management best practices, including training and awareness sessions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in asset and configuration management, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the organization's asset management capabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and integration of new assets and configurations, maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the process.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • ITIL Foundation and ITIL Intermediate certifications in Asset Management and Configuration Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset and configuration management, preferably in an ITIL environment.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and its application in data management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and tools, including CMDB tools, asset management software, and IT service management platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve asset and configuration-related issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, with the ability to manage complex data and information effectively.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing device lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard asset management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 19770-1 (ITAM).
  • Experience in implementing and managing IT service management processes, such as change management and incident management.
  • Familiarity with software licensing and maintenance contract management processes.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including IT Operations, Service Delivery, and Business Units.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to extract insights and generate reports from asset and configuration data.
  • Experience in conducting training and awareness sessions on asset and configuration management best practices.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in asset and configuration management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability under pressure.
