As an Analyst-Sr Programmer within our Business Systems Department, you will be responsible for providing technical direction on the system design and development of new systems, and for developing, maintaining and supporting new and existing software applications.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Administers and supports corporate applications.
  • Takes lead role in the design and development of systems, including initial concepts, end-user requirements analysis and systems designs.
  • Evaluates new technologies, databases and development tools. 
  • Evaluates, configures, implements, upgrades and monitors system performance on software products
  • Provides support and assistance to other members within areas of expertise.
  • Diagnoses and solves systems and applications problems.
  • Provides 2nd level support, which includes problem resolution, troubleshooting and user technical assistance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:

  • A University Degree in a computer related discipline or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years software development experience required, three of which are in Restful API Development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microservice architecture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in MS.NET development framework, including C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, MVC, .Net Core or .Net 5,6, ASP.Net Razor.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure resource (i.e. Hosted app, databases, KeyVault, etc.) and Azure DevOps (TFVC or GIT and pipelines experience), or cloud-native application deployment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with token based authentication and OKTA authentication api.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript, XML, XSL, HTML5, CSS, JQuery and Bootstrap.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2012-2016, MS SQL Server 2008-2014 and database development and experience including MS SQL Server, MS Access and Reporting Services.
  • Demonstrated development experience using SharePoint 2010/2013, including administration, design, development and implementation of custom Web applications.
  • Demonstrated experience using SharePoint Designer, MS InfoPath, IIS, PowerShell scripting, and MS Visual Studio and Source Control.
  • Demonstrated experience with mobile development for Android and iOS.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with TFS version control.
  • Demonstrated development approaches with Agile Development, SDLC.
  • Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

 

What we offer 

The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $68,369.00 - $115,195.00 per annum.  Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($94,460.00 - $115,195.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire. This position allows for the flexibility of hybrid remote working arrangements.
