Job Description
The Specialist, Infrastructure Services will be responsible for the design and maintenance of Extendicare and Paramed's site technologies in conjunction with the design and maintenance of the Windows Active Directory, Azure Cloud and Data Centre environments. The individual will work closely with the Systems Infrastructure Services team to help actively design and maintain all the Infrastructure portfolio solutions including compute, telephony, and site security across all environments. The applicant will bring strong technical acumen to help design/implement solutions to then promote into production. This role will also be available for Engineering level support, should it be required. The role will report to the Manager of IT Infrastructure.
The role is responsible for all aspects of Extendicare's cloud and on premise infrastructure with a strong focus on standardization of processes and technology to drive operational efficiency, scalability and security.

This role is based at our Markham Head Office and offers a hybrid work model.
As the Infrastructure Systems Engineer, Information Technology you will:
What You Bring
Self-motivated and actively participates in requirements and troubleshooting processes
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline or related experience
8+ years of progressive information technology experience
5+ years of managing a Windows Server Infrastructure
5+ years of managing Exchange 365 environment
3+ years of managing a cloud infrastructure
5+ years of managing a telephony environment
2+ years managing a Teams voice and VOIP environments
2+ years managing/supporting an Operator Connect and/or VOIP telephony solution
2+ years managing/supporting a nurse call system within the healthcare industry
Experience planning, configuring, deploying and managing platform technologies across on-premise and cloud scenarios.
Expert knowledge of Windows Server OS
Expert knowledge in MS Active Directory and Azure
Excellent knowledge of OS Backup solutions, OS Patch solutions, SAN technologies, x86 Server hardware, networking, ITSM/ITIL
Strong analytical skills with focus on troubleshooting and the translation of system issues to business impact
Good business acumen, ability to understand end-to-end business processes; Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills to work well on cross-functional teams and at all levels of the organization
Excellent communication skills, as this role has wide visibility to senior leadership and site staff. The ability to clearly articulate one's ideas, and to de-escalate situations where required.
Experience in health sector is beneficial
