POSITION SUMMARY:

Your role as a Quality Assurance Analyst is to actively participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of effective testing efforts for in-house software and integrations as well as vendor/SaaS based solutions. You are passionate about delivering high quality solutions that integrate a multitude of systems and you are expected to support testing efforts by acquiring organizational and domain knowledge, while applying your software testing expertise. You will help to develop and establish quality assurance standards, processes, and procedures to support continual service improvements related to the quality and efficiency of testing throughout the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Activity A: Software Testing (60% of time)

1) Ensure the overall quality of solutions through executing all aspects of Quality Assurance in every phase of the software development life cycle.

2) Ensure test results align with business functional and technical requirements, system compliance, and integration specifications.

3) Primary liaison for testing expertise for business participants on user acceptance test support.

4) Create test plans/strategy, scenarios, scripts, and expected results and execute the required testing accordingly, either independently or in partnership with internal or external parties.

5) Configure, implement, validate, and maintain test data and test environments.

6) Log, track, and report test results and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.

7) Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to the development team.

8) Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meets business expectations.

Activity B: Quality Assurance Operations (35% of time)

1) Support initiatives to improve existing and/or implement new QA processes within the organization.

2) Support the evaluation, deployment and management of test automation tools to improve efficiencies.

3) Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application testing best practices.

4) Contribute to the overall team development by collaborating with and actively participating in team activities to expand the technical capabilities through continuous learning and sharing of skills and knowledge.

5) Actively participate in meetings to solve technical or quality related issues.

Activity C: Planning (5% of time)

1) Take an active part in estimating and planning of the effort and timelines of any activities related to the software systems development and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree.

2) Minimum 4+ years of related work experience in Software Quality Assurance.

3) Knowledge of enterprise application technologies (Database and Application Servers) and issues (scalability, security).

4) Sound knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices.

5) Good experience with SQA methodologies, tools, and approaches.

6) Well versed in all test phases - QA, Regression, Load/Performance, etc.

7) Proven skills documenting problems found during testing in language understandable to users, system development staff and vendors.

8) Competency in understanding programming languages and SQL/relational databases.

9) Good understanding and experience with formal IT project methodologies, processes, and practices.

10) Experience supporting the design, development and implementation of software testing solutions/tools is preferable.

11) CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer) or CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst) certification is preferred.

12) Hands-on experience with automated testing tools is preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Takes appropriate accountability and/or ownership of tasks based on level of experience and length of time in role.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in an environment where QA tools are not in use and processes/procedures are not well defined.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage work priorities with moderate supervision.
  • Proactively looks for and addresses opportunities for efficiencies and/or improvements within their direct level of authority and/or the IT organization.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours
