Our head office in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking an Operational Technology Lead to join our IT Department. In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's operational technology application. You will work closely with data, Infrastructure, Application, and security architects/engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the operational technology meets the requirements for business / operational pain points. This role requires a deep understanding of operational technologies, the .Net framework, and integration with hardware such as RFID, printers, scanners, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with businesses to determine opportunities to transform the business process and process improvement in Operations, Supply chain, Distribution centers/warehouse, and farms
  • Looking for innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and quality, reduce cost and risk
  • Develop short- and long-term vision of the role of Technology Operations in the business
  • Study the Farms and DC solutions & technologies
  • Develop the Edge architecture and IoT platform
  • Develop the Architecture of Farms and DC
  • Develop the technology landscape of Farms and DC
  • Develop the technical documentation
  • Lead the PoC in Innovation and Operational technologies
  • Provide support to the Architecture review board
  • Interface with applicable vendors and infrastructure teams regularly to maintain system / OT environment stability

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of development experience using Microsoft .Net technologies, React or Angular, and integration with hardware such as RFID, printers, scanners, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with SCADA technology
  • 2+ years of experience with designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs, DCS, field instrumentation, and OT networks
  • Proficiency in Agile Development methodologies, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure) are a plus.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge and experience in database environments and reporting tools
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate development and modifications to operational processes and conversant with continuous improvement in team-based environments
  • Knowledge of solution architecture and IT best practices
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the OT security landscape
  • Ability to discuss with business to drive the initiatives
  • In-depth understanding of application architectures, concepts, and best practices in operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, such as .Net Framework, Azure.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as Amazon, Azure.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience with SQL-based query engines.
  • Understanding of operation technology security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
