About this position:

This position leads and oversees all areas of Information Technology, including implementation of enterprise information systems, infrastructure, software solutions, network, security and data management. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality, secure, and reliable IT systems and services, while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, a customer focused mindset (both internal and external) and building trusted partnerships across the organization. The Sr. Director leverages their knowledge to effectively advise, plan, articulate and communicate technology requirements with the organization's senior leadership team to support the execution of the company's mandate. The Sr. Director will broadly and collaboratively work to envision, execute and enable major technology projects to ensure they align and support the organization's priorities.

Core Responsibilities
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with members of the executive team and senior leaders to identify ways IT can assist the organization in achieving strategic objectives;
  • Responsible for developing and executing the organization's technical strategy to align technology initiatives with business priorities;
  • Ensure data is managed with integrity and good governance; adding value to the enterprise, while also safeguarding storage and keeping access to an as-needed basis;
  • Provide leadership and advisory support on enterprise-wide technology initiatives;
  • Provides direction and leadership for the staff of the IT department in the execution of their respective tasks and duties;
  • Oversees the cybersecurity function of the company's technological and information assets;
  • Responsible for IT budget; prepares/administers operating and capital budgets in accordance with short and long-term plans; makes sound financial decisions when administering operating and capital budgets;
  • Fosters a culture of service excellence, and customer orientation (internal and external) within the IT function, continuously optimizing team structure and practices to deliver consistent and responsive internal service across all areas;
  • Develops and optimizes IT as a high-performance team with emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, and staff empowerment; responsible for personnel management of the department consistent with company policies and procedures;
  • Effectively recruits, manages, and evaluates staff; provides an environment for growth and professional development for employees to achieve peak productivity/performance;
  • Participates in an advisory capacity for technology-related programs across the organization;
  • Promotes a positive work atmosphere by interacting in a manner that demonstrates mutual respect with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the digital enablement roadmap to modernize business systems, improve process efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making;

Required Skills
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • Proven excellent communications, leadership, and management skills;
  • Ability to motivate and inspire management and team members within the IT department;
  • Effective cybersecurity knowledge, corporate IT and data with emphasis on enablement, efficiency and bottom-line cost management;
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering and implementing programs;
  • Highly organized with the ability to navigate complexity and drive clarity in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proven experience as senior IT leader or similar managerial role
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective strategic and business mindset
  • Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.

Education & Experience
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum education and experience:

  • Degree or diploma in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent business experience;
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or enterprise-level role, ideally in a multi-site or regulated environment;
  • Proven experience developing and executing IT strategies aligned with business priorities;
  • Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, privacy best practices, and data governance;
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinker who is flexible, adaptable and resourceful;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines;
  • Team and service-oriented leader with an aptitude for working in a collegial, collaborative environment; proven leadership qualities coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proven knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, finance/budgeting, and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams, with a strong focus on strategic impact and delivering results;
  • Experience preparing/monitoring IT operational and capital budgets that meet various prevailing objectives and constraints.
  • Experience with IT frameworks such as NIST and ITIL
