Job Opportunity: Independent Contractor – Sr. Data Engineer

Ontario One Call is seeking an independent contractor to provide specialized services in overseeing the implementation of data quality reporting frameworks, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data across departments. The specialist will also support the Fabric process audit, review, and optimize data processes, and manage both pre-production and production data environments. This is a contract-based role, not an employee position, and requires applicants to operate as a separate business entity.

Ontario One Call acts as the communications link between buried infrastructure owners (our members) and individuals who are planning to dig in the province of Ontario. In 2012, the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act was passed, which stipulates that by law, anyone in the province of Ontario must contact Ontario One Call before they dig. Position Overview
As an independent contractor for a Senior Data Engineer, the incumbent will optimize data operations and ensure the seamless flow of information across systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architecture, as well as advanced proficiency in real-time data processing, data modeling, and ETL processes. This role plays a critical part in shaping the future of OOC’s data infrastructure, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality reporting across the organization.
The Senior Data Engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain robust data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. This role is integral to Ontario One Call’s ongoing digital transformation efforts
