Your Role

As Quality Assurance - System Applications, the successful candidate will work with the Business Applications and Program Delivery team to develop and execute testing strategies for both existing and new software applications. This role will include testing and evaluating software, integrations, and related components to ensure quality and functionality.

Day to Day

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy for software with input from business end-users, stakeholders, and vendors, including resourcing, milestones, and timelines.
  • Create and maintain software test plans, including designing test cases and techniques, scheduling activities, and utilizing specifications, checklists, and utilities to ensure product functionality across various environments.
  • Identify test cases based on software release notes and business requirements.
  • Develop basic test tools and applications to support software testing efforts.
  • Conduct software test execution, including managing test matrices and defect reporting.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, vendors, and end-users to assess and resolve software defects, identifying root causes.
  • Manage software defects by identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs, reporting them to developers and vendors with clear reproduction steps, and verifying fixes.
  • Prepare and present software testing outcomes, such as closure summaries and validation results.
  • Validate both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve software testing processes and system design.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in software quality assurance, including hands-on experience with quality system audit processes.
  • Must be proficient with Azure DevOps and defect reporting tools.
  • Adept at creating test plans and test cases for evaluating software products.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to generate process documentation and reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of test methodologies, including regression, system testing, black-box and white-box testing.
