Job Profile

The role of HR Functional Analyst for ERP will play a crucial role in supporting and optimizing our human resources systems and processes. This position requires a combination of technical expertise and HR functional knowledge to ensure effective system functionality and data integrity. The HR Functional Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, provide system training and support, and contribute to the overall success of our HR operations.

What you will be doing

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for HR systems (SAP S4HANA), including but not limited to Time & Attendance Management, Payroll Management, Benefits and Compensation Management, Personnel Management, Position Management and Org Management (including Org Structure).
• Collaborate with HR and Payroll stakeholders, HRIS Analyst and SF Analyst, to understand business requirements, identify system needs, and translate them into system configuration and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team to integrate payroll with HR, FICO, POPI and SF to S4HANA. Help these teams with replication related issues.
• Be responsible for Support Package updates by reviewing and identifying relevant SAP notes to be applied, completing required end-to-end testing, and ensuring that the updates are accurately applied.
• Understanding of SuccessFactors to HCM integration would be an advantage.
• Working experience in Canada specific Year-End and T4 related activities.
• Working experience in Canada specific union, non-union related payroll configuration.
• Conduct HCM system analysis and drive process improvement initiatives, optimizing HCM system performance and effectiveness for weekly Time and Payroll executions.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including user guides, policies, procedures, and training materials.
• In collaboration with the HRIS Analyst, train HR stakeholders and end-users on system features, functionality, and best practices. Collaborate with HR and external vendors to manage HCM specific system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements. Work in a collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders including functional specialists, ABAP and integration developers, business users, vendors, consultants.
• Identify and address data privacy and compliance considerations, ensuring HR systems align with applicable regulations and policies.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging HR technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance HR processes and systems.
• Responsible for documenting and developing systems requirements, design and prototype solution, complete full lifecycle testing for S4HANA HCM system landscape.
• Ability to create training documentation and conduct end user training.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
SAP HCM Certified - SAP S/4 HANA

Experience and Knowledge

Three to Four years of related experience in:

  • Professional advanced level experience in configuring, administering and troubleshooting SAP S4HANA HCM components.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the implementation, configurations, and support of SAP Payroll configuration Module and tools, such as the HR Schemas, PA calculation, Collective Agreements (unions), wage types, CATS, Time Recording, Time Evaluation, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCR) and ESS-MSS/Fiori Apps.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in troubleshooting end-to-end payroll, time management, benefits and entitlement management, processes including calculations, DME, configuration and integration with Finance and third-party vendors, SAP Off-Cycle, workbench, time and attendance calculations, payroll taxation and year-end processing.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing SAP S4HANA HCM and understanding of basis, development and integration knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in testing of SAP S4HANA HCM support packs and version upgrades.
  • Knowledge of HCM (SAP S4HANA) integration with other applications and/or technologies is considered an asset.

Your compensation

The annual salary range for this Non-Union position is $94,039 - $114,678 (Band Level 5, 2025 rates). We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week), with some evenings and weekends as required.
