Position Summary:
Reporting to Senior Manager Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Technician performs various functions within the QA Department including auditing, writing procedures, monitoring, verification, validation of the HACCP System and BRC system, data entry and design of forms. Technicians are required to follow all written Standard Operating Procedures and protocols at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand all QA documents such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Plans, CCPs (Critical Control Points), pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures and complete corresponding records, to ensure procedures and records are followed and completed appropriately, assists in the annual reassessment and review of the HACCP plan;
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks such as CCP checks, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) monitoring, prerequisite checks, conformity of finished products throughout the manufacturing process, performs quality audits on various cuts of meat, records and analyses test results and trends, supports production with data and feedback to determine root cause and correct actions;
  • Cover Microbiology Lab and Chemistry lab in the absence of microbiology technician;
  • Train all personnel at the Plant (i.e. production, quality, shipping, maintenance, etc.) on quality requirements;
  • Performs assigned project work to solve problems or improve quality, food safety or productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Food Science/Microbiology or a related discipline, with relevant minimum 4 years of food industry experience;
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems including GFSI standards (BRC);
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Proficient skill in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills;
  • Time management skills & multitasking ability;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook;
  • Able to work flexible hours.
