About the role
Join the Enterprise Data Office, in the Specialist, Data and Information position. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to strategize robust data initiatives across the organization. You will focus on the development of our data governance capabilities by conducting regular engagement sessions with stakeholders, you will also identify and address data needs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in developing data strategies that are aligned with business values.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct high-level assessments (e.g., costs, effort, value) to develop data roadmaps, including funded initiatives and business cases.
  • Facilitate regular engagement sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback, understand data needs, and create awareness around data holdings.
  • Develop communication materials to inform CMHC staff about data initiatives, roadmaps, objectives, outline required support, and ensure executive / leadership buy-in and support.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on using data value framework in assessing initiatives and setting KPIs and targets.
  • Maintain our Data Capability Framework, collect maturity targets from capability leads and consolidate inputs into roadmap.


What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or another related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience executing data governance strategies within organizations.
  • A good understanding of data life cycle and data value chain.
  • A good understanding of governance frameworks and information management protocols.
  • A demonstrated ability to present complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • A proven ability to think strategically, and develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
