About the Organization
The Scientific & Health Data Assets in Respiratory Research (shAIRe) is a pan-Canadian Network that aims to link and strengthen existing data infrastructures relevant to respiratory research to support Canadian Respiratory Research Network's mission to empower collaborative respiratory health research across Canada. The shAIRe Network will leverage and adapt successful models of trusted research environments and data governance frameworks. The Data4LungHealth platform will further host community developed resources promoting open science to advance scientific and public understanding of lung health.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Project Manager will support all aspects of the shAIRe Network. The project manager will lead the development of governance documents, data management plans as well as support collaborators across the Canada to share their data resources across the Network. The project manager will also actively engage community partners to ensure documentation, resources and data governance is acceptable to all, including data custodians, people living with lung conditions, community organizations, lawyers, and ethicists.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage experience and expertise in respiratory health and capacity building to manage multiple concurrent projects (scope, schedule, and resources), ensuring proper change, scope, risk, and expectation management are applied.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive workplans and budgets, network governance documentation, data management plans, and ensures legal agreements, Statement of Work, and other relevant documents are in place.
  • Support development and consolidation of project budgets. Oversee and coordinate procurement of services and goods for project activities in alignment with project budgets and financial reporting.
  • Organize, lead and facilitate events, workshops and project and sub-committee meetings with staff and partners, both locally and internationally, to support project planning and implementation, communications, knowledge translation and dissemination.
  • Manage the writing, developing and consolidation of annual project progress to internal and external groups.
  • Create, update and disseminate project newsletters, social media posts, website updates and other communications materials.
Note
Hybrid role: The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science with 3-5 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Established track record in project management processes and the project management life cycle.
  • An understanding of the health data privacy and protection landscape in Canada.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues and develop strategic solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; communicate with technical and non-technical users.
Assets
  • MSc with significant experience health data sector and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
