About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to our key projects as a member of our Test and Trials (T&T) Cross Product Team (CPT) as follows:

  • Lead automated functional verification testing of combat system software
  • Lead automated subsystem integration verification testing of combat system software
  • Lead automated regression testing of combat system software
This job requires the candidate to lead the planning and execution of automated testing in an agile software development environment. The candidate will act as a scrum master and requires a mix of strong technical skills and experience including computer programming, software architecture and design, problem solving, strong communication, and analytics. You will work in a Linux environment with multiple programming languages including Python, BASH, Java, and C++. Knowledge of combat management systems and mission systems software is considered an asset.

As the lead of an agile scrum team, your primary duties will include:
  • Support the SW test lead in developing and executing the overall test automation strategy
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the test automation solution
  • Collect and present comprehensive metrics related to test automation execution
  • Support and lead junior staff in all areas of test automation
  • Develop and maintain the test automation backlog
  • Develop, execute, and maintain the test automation codebase and test suites
  • Configure and maintain test automation continuous integration pipelines and schedules
  • Identify, assess, document, and re-test test automation defects contributing to overall quality improvement

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or related engineering discipline and 5 years' experience, or, Master's degree in related engineering discipline and 3 years' experience.
  • Must be willing to support schedule including evenings and weekends, as required
  • Must have an aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
  • Must have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
  • Must be able to obtain NATO Secret security clearance

  • Familiarity with BASH and Python

  • Familiarity with Subversion and/or Git
  • Experience with DOORS is considered an asset
  • Experience with networks and networking tools is considered an asset
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology is considered an asset
  • Active NATO Secret security clearance is considered an asset
  • ISTQB CTFL/CTFL-AT certification is considered an asset
