About the role

The successful applicant will lead the Business Platform Tools and Application Development support team for Lockheed Martin Canada. The role will require liaison between enterprise IT teams, regional IT and business stakeholders as well as industry partners.

Planning and execution of all Business Application Solutions and systems integration development milestones, oversee the day to day operations of these systems while ensuring the team is aligned to business strategic objectives.

The role will require building technology roadmaps and project execution plans that follow Lockheed Martin enterprise reference architecture while adhering to country sovereign requirements.

Success in this role will require focus on continuous improvement on system design and operations capability. In addition the successful candidate will be required to be proactive and be responsible for ensuring staff are meeting and exceeding expectations regarding performance, meeting defined metrics/benchmarks, and that standards and processes are followed consistently to provide effective customer service and meet requirements

  • Maintaining architecture and code repository for areas of responsibility
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities through CI/CD practices
  • Ensuring all SLA's are monitored and met on a day to day basis.
  • Tracking and trouble-shooting issues, change controls acting as a point of escalation within the team, resolution of 2nd/3rd line IT Application issues.
  • Maintains, updates team resource plan.
  • Growing and maintaining the Business Platform Tools application portfolio, and roadmap development to enhance our products and service delivery.
  • Understands content, processes and procedures associated with implementing enterprise applications.
  • Writes functional requirements, develops test plans, and works with production issues.
  • Leads projects teams using Agile project methods.
  • Project initiation and scoping of business and technical requirements.
  • Creation of SoW, design documentation, Visio diagrams, project plans Working within the company Project Framework.
  • Contributes to annual budget planning, ensures that expenditures are in line with budget plans.
  • Liaise and engages with relevant stakeholders including end client, business partners and other teams within EIT to promote capability of service.
  • Assisting and supporting Canada IT Leadership activities.

What you bring to the role

  • Experience with CI/CD in an enterprise IT environment
  • Experience of leading a variety of applications development Projects and end-user facing service environments
  • Experience with Enterprise Application Development and support best practices
  • Experience with ITSM and Incident Management using Service Now
  • Experience with Change Advisory Boards and ITSM Change Management practices
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to form partnerships to drive consensus, identify and address issues
  • Ability to understand and create workflows and test scripts
  • Experience of creating SoW, detailed system designs/documentation
  • Ability to manage and focus team on agreed priorities, under pressure and to SLA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at both a technical and business level
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and strong can do approach, team motivator
  • Delivery orientated team player
  • Experience of managing a small team

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
  • ITIL certification considered a bonus
  • PMP Certification is a bonus
  • Cyber Security certifications is a bonus
  • Defence Industry in IT or Software Engineering is a bonus
  • Familiarity with Canada sensitive data handling security levels is as a bonus
