About the role

We are currently looking for (2) two Senior Technical Analyst for our PL and SLs Actuarial teams. The individual will play a technical business support role in the various projects.

Office: For PL the candidate can work from any office in Canada. For SL the preferred location is Montreal.

What you'll do here:

  • Ownership of recurrent reports/processes. Includes creation, development, modification, and production of reports in Excel, Power BI and other tools through solid programming skills for data extraction and manipulation.

  • Analyze, synthesize report KPIs and provide commentary for internal and/or external business users, including actuarial, operational, and other corporate teams.

  • Support of adhoc data/reports creation and validations/investigations of production issues.

  • Recommend improvements and implement approved modifications.

  • Contribute actively to the team's work by considering the priorities.

  • Provide coaching to staff and/or act as reference.

  • Share systems knowledge and provide training when required.

  • May participate in the design and establishment of new databases environments.

What you bring to the table:

  • Highly developed analytical skills facilitating problem solving.

  • Can manage multiple initiatives at the same time; works well under pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in effectively working and collaborating with several teams within and outside actuarial across multiple sites.

  • Strong project management skills to engage with business requirements and tabling recommendations for reporting.

  • Desirable competencies: adaptability, planning and organizing, initiating action, quality orientation, teamwork.

  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word)

  • Experience with programming (SAS, Python, VBA, SQL among others) and data reporting/visualisation tools; Power BI

  • Experience in database design and validation/maintenance process establishment (asset)

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry (asset)

  • Bilingualism (French-English)For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
