Chandler Sales is currently seeking an experienced Cable Technician to join our team in Saint John or Moncton NB. This is a permanent full-time position. The technician will be involved in all aspects related to the installation and maintenance of communication cabling infrastructure in new construction and renovation projects. Most installations are related to the installation of security and CCTV devices. A background in security would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cable systems by installing, repairing and upgrading cable infrastructure.
  • Install cabling in new or existing buildings.
  • Responsible for the termination and testing of new cabling.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues.
  • Install and set up telecommunications frames and enclosures.

Qualifications

  • Experience with fibre optic splicing would be considered an asset.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience with a security integrator.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check.
  • Ability to manage workload to ensure jobs are completed on time and budget.
  • Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to - carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment and/or tolling.
  • Basic computer processing skills to submit time sheets and progress reports.
