Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Health Technology Solutions Advisor to join our team!
The Health Technology Solutions Advisor (HTSA) plays a primary role supporting Horizon stakeholders in moving technology and information systems forward within the organization and representing IT as an enabler of growth and innovation for Horizon Health Network.

Who you are
- You love technology. You have a university degree in Business, Health Sciences, Computer Science, or similar discipline or a combination of education and experience.
- Your have at least 5 years of Business and/or Systems Analysis experience in progressively complex initiatives; preferably in the healthcare and/or IT industry.
- You have exceptional communication skills.
- You have the ability to handle difficult and/or complex challenges while remaining calm and identifying solutions. You will handle escalations in a professional manner because you're a pro!
- You are confident. You have no problem working with senior leaders, clinicians, vendors or service partners.
- You navigate well in organizations, and you are a collaborator.
- You like to juggle and project management skills come naturally. You are able to be engaged in multiple active projects at any point in time, with varying degrees of complexity and business priority.
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.
What you will do
The HTSA will provide:
Organization Support:
- Take a leadership role in key technology related initiatives across Horizon.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and support the planning and prioritization of key initiatives and projects in Horizon.
- Support the implementation of IT solutions, consistent with Horizon's IT Strategy.
Requirements Gathering, Analysis and Validation:
- Gather and analyse requirements for initiatives that are required by departments, programs, and services within Horizon.
- Elicit requirements using appropriate tools and techniques such as user interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, and site visits.
- Consolidate requirements into clear and concise written language that is understood by both the business stakeholders and IT development and technical teams with partners and vendors. This includes capturing requirements using artifacts such as Business Requirement Documents, Use Cases, or User Storey Boards.
- Ensure requirements are validated and approved by Business Stakeholders.
- Assist stakeholders with project scope definition and requirement prioritization.
- Ensure changing requirements are properly documented and communicated to business and IT stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to process design activities, coordinate stakeholder engagement throughout.
- Assist stakeholders as required in validating the solution and associated business processes against requirements.
Business relationship management:
- The HTSA is an expert in relationship management and is a trusted advisor to stakeholders regarding the planning and prioritization IT requirements in alignment with corporate priorities and strategy.
Client Advocate - Strategic Technology Guidance:
- Work with business owners to understand technology impacts on business process.
- Provide direct and indirect leadership to departments, programs and services as a conduit into the IT Shared Service (SNB) process. Ensures SNB provides appropriate communication back to Horizon stakeholders on the status, progress, issues or escalations of active service requests.
- Assist the Business Owner in developing change management strategies to ensure that technology implementations are effectively integrated into operational processes.
- Advocate for the needs of key stakeholders to ensure that technology projects positively support healthcare operations.
- Provide and demonstrate best practices in the delivery of initiatives and subject matter expertise on relevant topics.
Program and Project Delivery:
- Engage stakeholders, vendors and IT Partners to define project scope and understand resourcing and funding requirements.
- Work with leadership to ensure that initiatives track and realise value.
- Actively work with team members, clinicians and key users to identify project risks and possible mitigation strategies.
- Perform Gap Analysis and Impact Analysis. Present recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Recommend strategies that resolve project delivery challenges.
- May be called to act as project lead on initiatives with a limited scope.
