Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a skilled and adaptable individual to join the Population Health Department as a Data Project Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on health, social, and population level quantitative data from a variety of government sources, as well as experience identifying and reporting on key performance indicators to inform systems level change.

Who you are (Qualifications)

You possess a bachelor's degree with a specialization in health or social sciences as well as four years minimum related experience. You have experience working within government or large organizations, knowledge of social determinants of health, as well as other factors or variables that influence the health of individuals and communities.

Required Skills:

  • Experience analysing and interpreting quantitative health and social data
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial government data, and experience identifying appropriate and high-quality data sources
  • Knowledge of quantitative data collection methods
  • Experience identifying and reporting on key performance indicators
  • Experience developing recommendations for program and service delivery change
  • Ability to use Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Experience compiling large amounts of data to produce reports to guide decision making by various stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with teams and organization management
  • Knowledge of research ethics is an asset
  • Experience using data analysis programs is an asset
  • Strong writing skills are considered an asset

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. French language ability is considered an asset.

Work environment

  • Standard hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday. Subject to change due to operational requirements
  • Ability to work from home or a hybrid work arrangement
  • Some travel within the province will be required. Must have a valid driver's licence

What you will do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Review, compile, interpret, and report on data from government and community data sources to aid departmental and organizational planning and service delivery
  • Ensure principles of health equity are reflected in the interpretation and reporting of data
  • Support the evaluation of Population Health Department programs
  • Identify and report on key performance indicators
  • Attend meetings with various organizational, government and community stakeholders to gather data, evaluate programs, or report on findings
  • Develop or support the development of strategic frameworks, action plans, or models to support work of the Population Health Department
  • Explore artificial intelligence tools to streamline data management and day to day operations
