Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The Application Support Analyst 3 reports to a supervisor/manager, providing tier 2 and 3 technical expertise related to applications and peripheral systems and working with support personnel, vendors and end users to resolve issues, determine root causes, monitor system performance; configure and support system interfaces and manage upgrades and patches. The analyst will ensure data integrity is maintained and create business continuity and disaster recovery plans. As part of change management, the analyst will evaluate and prioritize changes considering the impact and key stakeholder interests using standards and frameworks such as ITIL. The analyst will mentor other team members providing technical guidance, training backup supports, and ensuring documentation and operational procedures are in place. The focus on customer service will be evident in the demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy in client and vendor relationships, and ensure effective long-term operational support.
This role is for the Primary Care/Community Information Systems (PCIS) Office with responsibilities including requirements/specifications included in Manitoba's EMR Certification framework and vendor relationship management for Manitoba Certified EMRs.
Experience
- 5 years of experience within an application support and/or development environment for clinical and business applications.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- A computer science, systems engineering or related diploma from an accredited post-secondary educational institution; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Valid class 5 Manitoba driver's license and use of personal motor vehicle for local and provincial travel.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrate the capabilities in the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework at a professional level.
Physical Requirements
- Support province-wide client needs 24/7/365 through a variety of shifts, scheduled "on call" evenings and weekends, and overtime work as required.
- Working safely in an environment requiring some lifting and moving of personal computer equipment of up to 25 lbs.
