ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will help shape FTC’s digital experience. We’re looking for a talented designer who blends creativity with strategic thinking and efficiency, driven by a passion for delivering user-centred solutions.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support our Marketing team by creating and updating website designs and customer-facing digital assets.
  • Take ownership of digital design initiatives, effectively managing multiple simultaneous requests and projects.
  • Lead the design process from concept to handoff, ensuring that designs meet business objectives, customer needs, and brand guidelines.
  • Participate in strategy meetings to have a shared vision of the business objectives, proactively identifying opportunities related to design.
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand our customer needs and create innovative solutions.
  • Keep up to date on UX/UI industry trends, best practices, tools, and our customers’ use patterns to keep our digital experience fresh and innovative.
  • Create and present design concepts for validation with stakeholders, adapting to feedback.
  • Create polished high-fi designs and interactive prototypes optimized for usability, accessibility, and responsiveness across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.
  • Support our A/B testing initiatives with multiple design variants when needed.
  • Prepare design handoff packages to developers, timely address requests for clarification, and QA implementation for accuracy.
  • Maintain our comprehensive Design System consistent, organized and updated, identifying and implementing solutions to streamline the design process.
  • Work with tokens, components, variables, and styles to streamline designs.
  • Provide regular updates on project progression, difficulties, delays, and completion, proactively asking for support when needed.
  • Continuously look for ways to streamline the design process, improving efficiency for the entire team.
  • Actively contribute to team development, helping to build a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on design principles, best practices, and tools.
  • Support the design team on ad-hoc projects as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has 5+ years of experience in UX/UI Design or equivalent and a design portfolio of demonstrable projects that have shaped meaningful user experiences.
  • Has advanced technical skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Has experience working in Jira or other project management software.
  • Has a strong sense of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
  • Has a deep understanding of UX principles and user psychology to design intuitive and accessible interfaces.
  • Is skillful in layout, typography, colour theory, interactions, and brand consistency, bringing a refined aesthetic to designs.
  • Is capable of aligning design decisions with business goals and product strategy.
  • Is comfortable providing explanations to any design decisions based on best practices, research, usability testing, and brand standards.
  • Has experience working alongside developers, proposing solutions that balance user needs and technical feasibility.
  • Is experienced in setting up or contributing to design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across projects.
  • Gets a thrill from problem-solving and turning briefs into practical products.
  • Thrives in collaboration, communicates well and values feedback.
  • Has an extremely high level of attention to detail to create pixel-perfect work.
  • Is a champion for digital organization and intuitive information architecture.
  • Is comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Is dedicated to learning and continuous self-improvement.
