DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic senior software engineer to join the Digital Discovery team in Digital Acceleration. The Discovery team helps customer find ideal digital offerings tailored to their needs from over 350 million products available in Amazon's vast marketplace. We do this by building highly scalable multi-tenant services using AWS cloud, Java, and RESTful Web Services that delivers tangible value to the customers across all touchpoints of their shopping journey on various devices. We assume comprehensive responsibility for identifying and resolving challenges, leveraging existing Amazon-wide services where applicable or architecting custom solutions when necessary.
Key job responsibilities
As a tenured Senior Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team. You will contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable services and data processing pipelines. Over the next few years, we have exciting and complex technical challenges that present an excellent opportunity for an innovative technical leader to drive product vision and direction.
Your role will involve engineering internet-scale solutions to address critical business needs for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing customer-facing applications and robust backend services. You should also possess exceptional technical proficiency, a results-driven mindset suitable for a rapid pace, creativity to devise novel solutions, and strong analytical reasoning capabilities.

Amazon Digital Acceleration powers ordering, subscriptions, and device management for Prime, Amazon Video, Music, Audible, Alexa, and Kindle, amongst other digital businesses. We process billions of digital purchases every year and enable our digital businesses to grow their businesses worldwide. We are on a mission to be earth's best provider of one-time and recurring digital commerce, delivering a seamless and enjoyable post-purchase customer experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
