What you'll do:
The SAP HANA Database and Analytics core engine organization is looking for a junior developer to join our query engine team. In this role, you will be developing features, and maintaining various HANA database components. These components include HANA Analytic Advisor, HANA Analytics engine, and associated Business Intelligence components and microservices.

• Must have university a degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or electrical engineering. Other engineering degrees along with relevant experience may be considered.
• Must have a good GPA and/or prior hands-on development experience in object-oriented projects.
• Courses or project experience in relational database or data science is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience with more recent C++ standards such as C++17 is highly desirable.
• Knowledge or experience developing multi-threaded applications is desirable.
• Knowledge of HTTP protocol, and TCP/IP networking is required, or willingness to learn.
• Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skill is required.
Meet your team:
We are a small team of core HANA database developers based in Vancouver. The projects span several topics including HANA Multi-Dimensional Service (which is HANA OLAP or analytics engine), document store (which is a NoSQL JSON document store database), knowledge graph database development, and HANA Advisor development (which is part of AI initiative). We embrace a hybrid work model that enables developers to excel at what they are passionate about, and at the same time contribute to the business goals of SAP HANA database organization. The main metrics for measuring developers' performance in our team are your output, your team play, your creativity and your problem-solving. Our main development language is C++ although we do use Python and occasionally Go.

The targeted combined range for this position is 51000 - 111800 CAD CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
