West Fraser's Corporate Finance group located in Vancouver, BC has an immediate opening for a Corporate FP&A Senior Analyst.

Reporting to the Treasurer, you will be responsible for providing financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support business decision-making and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership skills, financial modeling expertise, a willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to all levels of the organization.

You'll do:

  • Help to lead the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans. Collaboration with various departments to gather data and ensure alignment with corporate goals and strategies will be a key success factor.
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial performance, including variance analysis and performance on KPI's, providing actionable insights to senior management
  • Develop and deliver regular financial reporting packages to support West Fraser's quarterly business reviews.
  • Work closely with business unit leaders to understand key operational drivers, financial indicators, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for West Fraser
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve corporate planning processes and reporting
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to requests from senior management or other departments to analyze impact of external factors and/or strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with other teams within West Fraser to help support planning function and ensure alignment of data
  • Lead one analyst, providing mentoring and guidance to support financial modeling, reporting, and analysis

You'll have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in any of the following: FP&A, financial reporting, business analyst or a similar role.
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Forestry is helpful, but not required.
  • Commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to lead discussions with senior management
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, and financial software (e.g., Oracle).
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI (Tableau, etc).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attributes: Proactive, results-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities. A strong team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The annual salary range is between $95,000 to $118,250.
